When can I create a guide?+
Once you have issued your O&M manual, choose Building User Guide for that project. Pay £39.99 once through Stripe. The guide editor, equipment detection and downloads open only after payment is verified.
How will OMLY decide what to include?+
OMLY identifies equipment from your completed manual and supporting documents. You confirm the equipment list, remove irrelevant or duplicate items and check model details before drafting the guide. A product mentioned in a document will not automatically be treated as an installed asset.
Can I add equipment that is not in the manual?+
Yes — the editor lets you add equipment separately, including its make, model, location and photo. Search online for official manufacturer instructions, upload a manual or add verified project notes so the guide has a reliable source for that item.
Can OMLY find manufacturer instructions online?+
Yes. Enter the exact manufacturer and model, confirm the installed equipment, then choose Find manufacturer instructions. Review the proposed official source, model evidence and draft instructions before approving an import. Source links are retained in the guide. If no reliable readable match is found, upload the manual instead. Online searches share your guide’s daily AI allowance.
Will every guide have the same sections?+
No. The content follows the confirmed equipment and information for your project. You can exclude items and add useful building details and aftercare contacts. It is not a fixed list of systems that every building is assumed to have.
What happens if information is missing?+
Missing model details, control locations and instructions will be flagged for you to complete. OMLY is instructed not to guess operating instructions or equipment settings.
When will I pay?+
Once your manual is issued, choose this optional add-on. Pay £39.99 total once per project guide, separate from your OMLY subscription. Stripe must confirm successful payment before the guide workspace opens. Cancelled or unpaid checkouts do not grant access.
Will I have to pay again for edits?+
Your one-off purchase includes editing and re-downloading the same project guide, up to 60 equipment items, 50 extra source files (100 MB total) and 60 AI requests per day. PDF and text sources are supported. Failed generation can be retried without another purchase.
Does it replace the O&M manual?+
No. The Building User Guide is for everyday use by occupants and building teams. Your O&M manual retains the technical documentation, certificates and specialist maintenance information. The contractor reviews the guide against the actual installation before issue.
